Where to stay in Copenhagen

por Postcards from IvI

Copenhagen is one of the most charming cities in Europe. When it comes to finding accommodation, it’s very important to choose the right neighborhood to make the most of your stay. In this post, I’ll tell you where to stay in Copenhagen, including the best areas and recommended hotels.

During my 3-day trip to Copenhagen, I stayed at the 25hours Hotel Copenhagen, an amazing hotel with modern spaces decorated in the most original way. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Copenhagen, as its location is perfect for exploring the city.

Before you start looking for accommodation, you should know that Copenhagen is one of the most expensive cities in Europe, so hotels can be pricey. However, it will depend on the time of year you travel and the area where you stay.

Now, let’s take a look at the best neighborhoods and hotels to stay in Copenhagen.

Where to stay in Copenhagen: best areas and hotels

1. Indre By (Historic Center)

Indre By, also known as the historic center, is the heart of Copenhagen. If it’s your first visit to the city, it’s an excellent area to stay in, as you’ll be close to the main tourist attractions. Here, you’ll find some of the most famous sights, such as Amalienborg Palace, Tivoli Gardens, and the shopping street Strøget.

Indre By covers nearly all of central Copenhagen, so it’s quite a large area. For your first visit, I recommend looking for hotels near Nyhavn, Rosenborg Castle, the City Hall, or Amagertorv Square.
